Eastman Park
Windsor's big river park south of downtown at 7th Street and the Poudre: a river-mile for tubing and kayaking, an 18-hole disc golf course, a fenced dog park, skatepark, fields, playground and the Poudre River Trail along its south edge.
Eastman Park sits where 7th Street meets the Cache la Poudre south of downtown, and it has most of what the town does outdoors in one place: multipurpose fields, a playground, a skate park, pickleball lines, fishing, restrooms, a water fountain, and a shelter with electricity seating about 32. The Eastman Oxbow Disc Golf Course, 18 holes along the river and through the trees, starts at the west end of Eastman Park Drive past the barrier; disc sets rent for $5 a day. Poudre Pooch Park, on the west side of the park, has separate fenced grass runs with tables and shade.
The Eastman Park River Experience, entered south of the dog park, is a river-mile set aside for kayaking, canoeing, tubing and water play, with a float launch and take-out, a river plaza for getting to the water, and a view down the river to Longs Peak. It is free; the Town asks everyone to wear a safety vest, warns that depth and flow vary and hazards hide under the water, and rents tubes from late May to early September. The Town plans to extend the park across the river as Eastman Park South, with trails, gardens and a nature playground. The Poudre River Trail runs along the south side of the park, which makes the lot here the usual Windsor trailhead, and the Treasure Island Demonstration Garden is just east along the trail.
