Tailholt Park
An 11.9-acre Town of Severance park, number 17 on the Town’s Parks & Trails map, east of Tailholt Avenue and north of Waterfowl Way, toward Franklin Lake. The map gives no street number; amenities are not listed.
The Town of Severance’s Parks & Trails map (Ayres, map 12, dated 13 April 2026) lists Tailholt Park as park 17, 11.9 acres, and places it east of Tailholt Avenue and north of Waterfowl Way, toward Franklin Lake (the map calls it Tailholt Park 4; a 0.2-acre Tailholt Pocket Park, number 18, sits at Tailholt and Central avenues). The Town’s Parks & Recreation page names the park and says its parks are spread through the subdivisions, each with its own amenities, but neither the page nor the map gives a street address or the amenities, so the address above is the map’s position. Parks & Recreation answers 970-686-1218.

- How Severance grew from Tailholt to today
A post office meant to be called Tailholt, a governor's son, a beet dump on the Great Western Railway, a town of about a hundred people for half a century, Bruce's Bar and its Rocky Mountain oysters, a snowball law repealed by a nine-year-old, and growth from 106 people in 1990 to 7,683 in 2020.
