High Desert Chocolates
Coffee shop and chocolatier in one on the corner of 5th and Main: espresso drinks, hand-painted small-batch truffles, Walrus ice cream and a free back room for groups, open early to late every day.
The downtown coffee stop that is also a chocolate maker. The counter does artisan coffee and espresso drinks; the cases hold hand-painted, small-batch chocolates and truffles; and the freezer holds Walrus Ice Cream for nachos and banana splits. The shop’s line is “Coffee. Chocolate. Community.” and it means the last part: a back room seating 14 to 22 can be reserved free for community gatherings, and “Give Back Sundays” send proceeds to local causes.
Custom confections, logo cookies, dessert towers and event catering are the other side of the business. Open from 7:30 on weekdays and Saturdays, 8:30 on Sunday, and until 8 or 9 at night, later than most of Main Street.
