Windsor Lake Trail

The 2.25-mile loop around Windsor Lake from Boardwalk Park, the town's everyday walk and run, flat the whole way, with the lake dog park on the north shore and a connection west on the #2 Ditch Trail.

The trail circles the perimeter of Windsor Lake, 2.25 miles around according to the Town, starting from Boardwalk Park at the foot of 5th Street or from the parking lot on Highway 257 on the west side. It is flat, open and in town, which is why it is the walk Windsor does before work and after dinner, and it passes the swim beach, the boat rental stand and the History Museum buildings on the south shore.

On the north side of the lake the trail reaches the Windsor Lake Dog Park, where dogs can get in the water; everywhere else on the loop they must be leashed. From the lake the Town’s #2 Ditch Trail, part paved and part soft surface, heads west toward Kyger Reservoir for anyone who wants more than one lap.
